characteristics

This amazing newly built house was conceived from the start as a multidisciplinary project, involving a team of young professionals with the interior designer Jordi Batlle amongst them.

Jordi Batlle has combined each structural element of the new house with lighting, coatings, paving material and furnishing that were better in line with it, giving the house a great personality: Mediterranean, practical, young and elegant.

The materials:
As for the materials chosen, Jordi Batlle followed the guideline agreed by the client and the architecture studio, and managed to find an original material to surface the house, both for indoors and outdoors. His choice was a traditional Catalan limestone but in a modern shade of earthy gray.

The lighting chosen to brighten the large rooms consisted of small plaster cast wall lamps with light projected upwards, which give a pleasant, “almost natural” light in all the rooms.
The wooden dining table, centerpiece of the house, has been crowned with two fascinating Octo natural wood lamps. The outdoor lighting was personalized with a few small holes in different facades, creating a subtle, magical light on all sides of the house.

The windows and doors are designed and manufactured entirely in chestnut wood, the leading company in the sector Iscletec.

The bathrooms have been designed to provide the same effect: open, modern and natural. All bathrooms have been built and plastered with light gray cement, and equipped with sleek matte stainless bathroom fittings. The bright, practical kitchen was furnished with white lacquered furniture, with integrated wooden handles and with exquisite details such as the lower dovetail joints of the bar and the pantry, and concealed appliances with the same lacquered wood.

For the furnishing of this Mediterranean house, Jordi Batlle chose an original line of furniture with a mixture of Mediterranean spirit, coupled with a thousand of simple, timeless details such as natural wood stools and chairs painted white, genuine natural wood rocking chairs, chairs salvaged from old schools or the impressive theater seats from Liceu in Barcelona.

This is yet another major project of the interior designer Jordi Batlle that manages to capture his excellent, thorough work with a fantastic result.
